About the Role
Secret Manager is building a Zero-Knowledge architecture for personal data. We need a backend engineer who is paranoid about security and obsessed with throughput. You will build the ingestion pipelines that handle millions of metric points per day while ensuring we (the company) can never see the user's raw data.
Responsibilities
- Design and maintain high-throughput ingestion endpoints using Node.js and Supabase Edge Functions.
- Implement encryption-at-rest strategies (AES-256-GCM) where even the database administrators cannot decrypt user payloads.
- Optimize PostgreSQL queries and indexing strategies for time-series data.
- Build background workers for the 'Correlation Engine' that analyzes cross-metric dependencies.
- Ensure API reliability and idempotency for mobile clients with spotty connections.
Requirements
- 6+ years of backend development experience (Node.js, Go, or Rust).
- Deep knowledge of PostgreSQL (partitioning, lateral joins, materialzed views).
- Experience with Event-Driven Architecture (Kafka, RabbitMQ, or PG-Boss).
- Strong understanding of OWASP Top 10 and API security standards (OAuth2, JWT).
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes (or serverless equivalents).
Bonus Points
- +Experience with vector databases (pgvector) and LLM integration.
- +Background in cryptography or cybersecurity.
- +Experience building public-facing APIs (Stripe-like quality).
